Vivaldi vs. Piazzolla
‘Traffic of epochs, traffic of styles, traffic of authors, traffic of timbres, traffic of nuances, traffic of rhythms, traffic of sounds. Traffic Strings, i.e. „Seasons Rendezvous“, by exploring the „Seasons“, supported the common source of inspiration of two very different composers: Antonio Vivaldi and Astor Piazolla.”
“… diametrically opposed, but at the same time extremely close, both the four seasons conceived by Antonio Vivaldi and those composed by Astor Piazzolla are probably the most famous pieces of the history of instrumental music. You will feel in the version presented by TRAFFIC STRINGS that, despite the time passed, Vivaldi’s seasons are fresher than anytime, while Piazzolla’s seasons seem ready in any moment to cause a stunning and sensual show of incandescent tango.”
“Penetrating in the „body“ of the music and softly navigating in the time and in the space, the eight „Traffickers“ suggest, by this show, a bridge connecting the sound spaces in an original instrument expression, orchestrated by Lucian Moraru, the creator of the group. Why is it original? Because the „Seasons Rendezvous“ is, as a matter of fact, not only a banal meeting on the concert poster, of the most valuable opposed elements belonging to some „titans” of the universal composition, but even the result of certain both synthetic and original artistic search.”
Sound synthesis
“The „Traffic Members” expressively marked the sound result, as a matter of fact we’re talking about a „Music of the two hemispheres – as a result of a spiritual communion putting into a new light the originality of the original point of these masterpieces. „Seasons Rendezvous” represents a sound synthesis, based on the interpenetration of the two famous cycles of the „Seasons” in the particularized instrumental arrangement of Lucian Moraru, who assigns to the Pan-Flute a surprising and privileged soloist role.”
In tango steps
“The intercalation of the components of the two instrumental suites amplifies the cyclic dimension of each individual construction, by extending it at the level of a multiplied arch over the times and the geographical spaces. With this respect, the own emotional argumentation of the stylistic zones seems impressive, as Traffic Strings propose themselves to be successively placed in the position of the baroque musician and in the position of the contemporaneous musician who convincingly assumes the sensitive coordinates of the age which he represents. Beyond the subtle temptation of the virtuous expression, the band evolution impressed by the empathic homogeneity of the intentions, by the irradiative affective involvement, by the customization of the stylistic environments. The Argentine tango of „Estaciones portenas“ on the baroque covers of the Vivaldi an Winter had the flavor of a passionate adventure in the Middle Age castle; open and closed in a pictorial integration at the intimate light of the candles, the story of this adventure exceeds the simple history of certain styles, due to the natural character of the people who expressed it…. At the beginning of the spring, Traffic Strings explored the „Seasons”.
